Started this today on a wooden bookshelf I found in my basement - using drywall and acrylic. Hands and shading and all that will be better soon, but I have not posted in forever so I thought I'd give you all a peek!

Elephants march in the night

To keep all of the Howler CD's safe, I put the batches of them inside a blue (looks black here but really blue) wooden case. Today i decided to paint elephants marching around that case.

Gobagoon

Here's another few excerpts from my writer's craft journal. Some people have been asking about these droopy, big mouthed, jaundice, naked, bald creatures that keep popping up in my sketches, and what the hell they are. Well, I use them to represent many different things, including myself, loved ones, feelings and all sorts of situations, but i never really knew "their story". So my dear friend Lydia and I have dubbed them "The Gobagoons". So hopefuly these little guys can help me tell some of my own stories. Enjoy!

I Saw Water

An woodblock painting/optical illusion piece that was inspired by the previous "challenge" entry of a person being pulled underwater.


The Process:
I found some stubs of cut 2X4's in my garage.

So I fashioned a makeshift projector by sticking a string from wall to wall, and drawing an image on a piece of plastic

I traced the image being projected onto the blocks.

Then I painted the blocks using watered down acrylics.
